I am reading Machiavelli’s “The Prince”, which might explain why I’m not writing as much as I have previously, since you can’t skim through this book. However, some of the things that he speaks about led me to question the tactics of the Left.

Plato, in “The Republic” explains how different types of rulers evolve in a society, how different societies change because of the various government types, and what each type does to its inhabitants. What Machiavelli looks at is more focused, and while he is looking at politics from a medieval perspective and in “The Prince” is restricting his observation to Monarchies (specifically, monarchies which came about through bloodshed – which would explain why “The Prince” is considered hard and unfeeling)

This is the article I was writing before I was distracted by the healthcare mess; it seems that we've caught the (P)Resident in yet another lie. I, of course, am amused by this latest fiasco, since all of those “obstructionist” Republicans predicted everything that is happening with health care. Millions of formally insured Americans are now without health insurance, working poor are having to choose to pay the “penalty” for failing to enroll in a healthcare plan, and the people Obama-Scare relies upon, the young and healthy are choosing the less expensive option of paying the “penalty” and worrying about healthcare when and if they ever need it. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that no one saw that coming, I almost feel like Captain Renault in ‘Casablanca… “ObamaCare doesn’t work, I'm shocked.”

Since the inception of this ridiculous pile of pulp, Conservatives have argued that it wouldn’t work, that the way it was written couldn’t work, and that millions of people would suffer because of it. For their pains, they were ridiculed, lambasted in the media, and pilloried in the court of public opinion. Well, looks like Reverend Wright’s “chickens are coming home to roost” after all. In a new Quinnipiac Poll the Republican Party erased a nine-point deficit, apparently overnight, by defying this law. You’d think that this might be the election winner for Conservatives in the next couple of elections.

Unfortunately, the next couple of elections will still put the wrong people in control, as Bonzo Dog says, “No matter who you vote for the Government always gets in”
